From July 11th to September 15th 2014 readers shared on our site inspirational quotes that represent one of the seven values of MOVE.BG: love, freedom, growth, responsibility, fairness, transparency and common action. There were over 140 participants involved who sent in excerpt from books of more than 40 contemporary writers. The initiative was supported by leading publishers like Janet 45, Hummingbirds, and Ciela, by the magazine ‘Granta,’ and by the Elizabeth Kostova foundation. Literature sites and blogs AzCheta, Literature Today, Knigolandiya, The Literature Grid, The Gathering of Troubadours, Ucha.ce, and Cheti.me also supported the initiative.
As a natural continuation of the campaign, ‘No Subtitles’ we brought readers together with their favourite Bulgarian authors: Georgi Gospodinov, Vanya Shterva and Alexander Shpatov. These initiatives are part of MOVE.BG’s ‘Starting Point’ program, which aims to draw attention to human values as a unifier of our society. These shared values that compel into collective action and responsibility make give us more freedom and remind us of the gift of love by which we are fair and move forward on our path of development. Values are our starting point and our inner compass during our life’s journey.
At MOVE.BG we believe that values don’t need translation. They have a language we all speak; words that we all understand. Values are the most inspiring quotes from our lives. So we invite you to discuss all together about values, and hear excerpts of our favourite contemporary Bulgarian authors.
Speak without translation, without reading subtitles.
Svetlozar Zhelev from publishing house ‘Kolibri’ moderated the discussion. Nikolai Dragov was also part of the discussion – one of the participants that posted a quote in ‘Summer Vacation.’
Az Cheta was our Media Partner at the event.
